Privacy Policy
Summary
Prowlogue does not collect, sell, or share your personal information. We operate no servers that receive data from the app, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking. Prowlogue communicates only with the media servers and services you choose to connect, and with Apple for purchases.
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Prowlogue app for Apple TV ("Prowlogue" or the "App") handles information. Prowlogue is published by guama.dev, based in California, United States ("we," "us," or "our"). Prowlogue is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jellyfin, Swiftfin, Seerr, or any media service.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information through the App. There is no Prowlogue account, the App sends no usage data to us, and it contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking software. The only personal information we receive is information you choose to send us, such as when you email us (see Section 8).
3. Information Stored on Your Apple TV
To work, Prowlogue stores the following on your Apple TV. None of it is sent to us.
- Server and sign-in details: the addresses of the media servers you add, your user names, and the access tokens those servers issue.
- Optional service details you enter, such as an IPTV playlist or guide address and its credentials, or a Seerr address and API key.
- A PIN, if you protect a user profile with one.
- Your settings and preferences.
- Cached artwork and metadata, and a diagnostic log (see Section 6).
- Titles and artwork from your library shown in the Apple TV Top Shelf, if Prowlogue is in the top row of your Home Screen.
Access tokens, credentials, PINs, and API keys are stored in the Apple TV keychain.
4. Information Shared with Services You Connect
Prowlogue sends information only to the servers and services you set up, and only as needed for the features you use:
- Your media server (such as Jellyfin) receives your sign-in credentials; your Apple TV's name, a device identifier, and the App's name and version; what you browse, search, and play; your playback progress; and the preferences you sync with your account, such as audio and subtitle choices.
- Plugins on your server, such as Jellyfin Enhanced, receive the requests Prowlogue makes through them, including media requests forwarded to Seerr.
- Watch Together (SyncPlay): other members of a group see your user name and your playback actions.
- Remote control: other apps signed in to your server can see this Apple TV as an active session and control its playback.
- An IPTV service or HDHomeRun tuner you add receives requests for its channels, guide, and streams.
- A Seerr instance you add receives your searches and requests. To attribute requests to you, Prowlogue finds the Seerr user linked to your media-server account and, if there is none, asks Seerr to create one from that account.
- Artwork hosts referenced by your server or Seerr, such as The Movie Database (TMDB), receive requests for the images Prowlogue displays.
Each of these services also receives the network address of your Apple TV, as with any internet connection. These servers and services are run by you or by third parties, not by us, and their own policies govern how they handle your information.
5. Purchases
Prowlogue+ subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We never receive your payment details, name, email address, or Apple Account information. The App learns from Apple only whether your subscription is active, so it can unlock Prowlogue+ features. Apple's Privacy Policy governs Apple's handling of your information.
6. Diagnostics
Prowlogue keeps a log of its network activity on your Apple TV to help diagnose problems. The log stays on the device and is never sent to us. Separately, if you have chosen in your Apple TV's privacy settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics that Apple prepares without identifying you. You can turn this off at any time in those settings.
7. Security, Retention, and Deletion
Prowlogue relies on the protections built into tvOS, including the keychain, to safeguard what it stores. How secure the connection to a server is depends on that server's configuration; we recommend using HTTPS. You control how long information stays on your Apple TV:
- Switching or signing out of a user keeps that user saved, so you can return without signing in again.
- Removing a user from Prowlogue permanently deletes everything the App stores for that user: the sign-in token, PIN, settings, and service credentials, along with the diagnostic log and any Top Shelf content shown for that user. Removing a server does the same for every user on it.
- Deleting Prowlogue removes all of its data from your Apple TV. tvOS can retain keychain items after an app is deleted, so if you reinstall Prowlogue, it erases any such leftovers the first time it opens.
Cached artwork is not linked to any user; it is replaced automatically over time and removed when you delete the App. Information held by your media server and other connected services is kept according to their own policies, and removing a user from Prowlogue does not delete their account on those services.
8. If You Contact Us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and use them only to respond. We keep this correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request, and we do not share it except where required by law.
9. Children
Prowlogue is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict its use, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation. Because the App does not collect personal information, we generally hold none about you other than correspondence you send us. To make a request, contact us and we will respond within the time required by law. For information held by your media server or another connected service, contact its operator.
11. Do Not Track
Prowlogue does not track you across apps or websites, so it does not respond differently to "Do Not Track" or similar signals.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always available in the App under Settings › About › Legal and at prowlogue.app/privacy. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the App or its release notes before the change takes effect.
